The Everett Public Facilities District, owners of the Comcast Arena at Everett, announced the appointment of Bob Bavasi to the EPFD Board, succeeding Mark Olson. Bavasi joins EPFD Board President Gary Weikel, Treasurer Thomas Gaffney, Secretary Gigi Burke, and Board Member Lanie McMullin.
Bavasi is a partner in Bavasi Sports Partners LLP, a consulting group offering strategic planning in the sports business. He also manages baseball initiatives in Japan that include tours, an online ticket service, and media guide publishing. He is an active community member, attorney, and baseball club owner. Bavasi and his wife, Margaret, were owners and operators of the Everett AquaSox, an affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. Bavasi is the creator of the Horizon Air Summer Series, a collegiate invitational baseball league, and its host team, the Marysville Gold Sox of Marysville, CA. He has served as Chair of the Board of Everett Community College, the Washington State Community Colleges, and the Washington State Tourism and Economic Development Board.Comcast Arena at Everett was developed and is owned by the Everett Public Facilities District.
The Everett Public Facilities District is a municipal corporation managed by a five-member Board of Directors. Board members are appointed by the Everett City Council and serve four-year terms. Elections for EPFD Board positions will be held at the January 16 monthly meeting.
