Returning to the Pacific Northwest for the first time under their new banner, the Professional Fighters League will host their second event July 29 at XFINITY Arena. Long-time welterweight stalwarts Yushin Okami and Jake Shields are set to face tough challengers when the Decagon returns to Everett.
The star-studded card is led by former UFC title-contender Okami who is slated to battle Andre Lobato in the co-main event. Okami -- riding a three-fight winning streak – will welcome Brazil’s Lobato to the Decagon in what should be a competitive welterweight affair. The newcomer Lobato has been tearing up the Brazilian scene, rattling off nine consecutive victories of his own to earn his spot in the Professional Fighters League lineup.
Another former UFC title challenger Shields will square off with the always-tough Danny Davis Jr. in a welterweight scrap. Shields has been a fixture at 170-pounds for more than a decade and holds wins over some of the most notable fighters of his generation including Tyron Woodley, Robbie Lawler, Dan Henderson, Carlos Condit and Demian Maia. He’ll take on Davis in what promises to be an epic battle of wills.
