Fuel, Eve 6, Marcy Playground and Dishwalla to Perform
Rock N Road Trip will feature Fuel, Eve 6, Marcy Playground and Dishwalla for a night of alternative rock. Fuel formed in 1993 while playing the club circuit in and around Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The band signed to Sony Records and in 1998 released their critically lauded, debut album Sunburn with the massive hit single “Shimmer”. Their second album Something Like Human took the band to a new level of stardom, hitting multi-platinum status driven by the singles “Innocent” and “Hemorrhage”, which remained at #1 for ten weeks. In 2003 Fuel released their third record Natural Selection, and found success at radio again with the hit song “Falls On Me”.
Eve 6 formed in Southern California in 1995 and quickly signed a deal with RCA Records before they had even finished high school. The band issued the self-titled Eve 6 in 1998, attaining platinum success with hit singles “Inside Out” and “Leech,” the former capturing the #1 spot on the Modern Rock charts and crossing over successfully to Top 40 radio. More widespread recognition came with gold-selling sophomore effort Horrorscope (2000), which spawned radio gems “Promise,” “On The Roof Again” and the ubiquitous prom and MTV anthem “Here’s To The Night”.
90’s alternative rockers Marcy Playground are celebrating their 20 year veterancy in the music industry. This year marks the anniversary of their 1997 self-titled debut album, which included the hit single “Sex and Candy”. The album went platinum back in 1997, selling 1.4 million copies, while the radio classic “Sex and Candy” spent a then record 15 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart.
In 1994 Santa Barbara natives, Dishwalla, signed to A&M Records and immediately began their successful launch into the music scene. Their debut album, Pet Your Friends, lit up the airwaves in 1996 with their edgy smash-hit single “Counting Blue Cars”.
